• For Position of Resident Engineer to work on our Specialized Hospital Project in Uganda.

 

Objectives:  

• We are looking for a proactive team leader who has substantial experience as Resident Engineer on the Client’s side for specialized hospitals around the world. The candidate shall have min 12 years of experience in the field of design, engineering, construction and consultancy. He shall be a great communicator as this role must provide leadership and guidance to an international team of Engineers. His main objective is the co-ordination and delivery of the project to meet timeline and European quality, whilst meeting or exceeding Clients’ expectations.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing the project to meet milestones of time schedule and control the team of engineers
• Construction contract administration
• Maintain risk register and relevant supporting files
• Advising the Site Engineers on construction, quality and progress
• Lead point of contact, co-ordination of consultants in all disciplines * Champion of quality and progress
• Issuing construction information as per contract requirement
• Co-ordinate disciplines and to resolve issues in a timely manner
• Liaising with all relevant package managers, department heads, site staff ensuring all parties are kept informed of all relevant matters in relation to the project
• Providing technical advice to the Senior Resident Engineer and or the Client
• Checking project deliverables for which the Engineers are responsible for, including drawings, reports, etc.
• Quality Assurance documentation and registers in relation to the assigned work on the project
• Ensure thorough review & prompt exchange of correspondence, RFI’s and approvals via ACONEX
• Plan, co-ordinate and monitor activities of the team, including sub-consultants, ensure quality assurance system implemented and maintained
• Liaison with authorities and active management of the NOC and relevant approval processes
• Assure site safety, and follow up HSE identified risks
• Conduct regular site meetings and inspections
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of records
• Provide final approval of the completed works and arrange handing over

 

 Key requirements:

• Candidates with a proven track record acting in the capacity as a Resident Engineer running a project, would be ideal

Qualifications: 

• The candidate needs to have a recognized undergraduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline – civil engineering / structural engineer
• The candidate needs to have experience with Hospital and must have min. 12 years’ experience in the field of engineering and consultancy
• A post graduate master degree preferable
• Certification (PMP)
• Chartered engineer is not essential but is certainly an advantage
• English proficiency at CEFR level C1

• Back-Up: Ensure proper documents are created and signed, all date is accurate and that documents are stored and backed up.
• Storage: Perform document storage duties, including scanning, copying, physically or electronically filing and organizing of documents, ensuring they are saved and safeguarded.
• Retrieval: Handle retrieval of documents as directed and be able to quickly and efficiently retrieve documents and data when needed.

• Distribution: Receive, log and distribute all technical documents and assist in coordination and monitoring of administrative activities to facilitate and expedite the work flow.
• Co-ordination: Co-ordinate between Consultants and Contractors for facilitating documents workflows and ensure documents status to be closed. Coordinate with respective Project staff to ensure correctness of records.
• Close-out: Successful closeout and handover of documentation as required by line manager and contractual obligation.
• Training: Conduct training in reference to EDMS, QSE and Document Management Procedures across the organization and project stakeholder.
